Member Night Ride
It's the week of the night ride!
Saturday looks like it will be a beautiful, sunny 70F during the day and will become a chilly 39F at night. Make sure to bring warm clothes for the evening!
We will have a table set up at the parking lot near the campfire area for signing in and out at the end of the ride.
At sign in, the club will be checking if you're a current member and we will be able to take in new memberships then too. If you're planning to join the club, come by earlier! This is a members-only night ride.
At the sign in table, we will have a donation box for helping families in North Carolina have a place to call home again. Jonathan Bukovac is gathering donations for acquiring building materials to outfit 3-5 storage containers into tiny homes for families who have lost everything and don't have the funds to rebuild. Please consider bringing a cash donation for this cause.
We will also have club T-shirts/decals/hats for sale.
At 6:45pm we will have an optional guided tour going out! The guide meet up will be by the signin table. Fred on his ATV would be happy to lead a group. Also we will have Rory on a bike with a powerful helmet light. Fred and Rory know the trails extremely well!
If you get lost/stuck during the ride here is information that we will have available at the parking lot:

-----
The club will be hosting a club members only night ride on October 19 from 6:30 to 9:30 PM.
Special arrangements are being made with our lease property owners for the ride.
The entire trail system will be open, but we suggest you ride on those sections that you are familiar with. Everything looks different at night and it is easy to get confused.
We suggest you bring your cell phone and a gps unit if you have one, along with one of our trail maps. We also suggest bringing a couple of flashlights and clothing appropriate for the weather.
Riders will leave the parking area by 6:30 and must be back at the parking area by 9:30.
We will have a camp fire at the parking area to warm up and
socialize after the ride.
Make sure you have a working headlight! Contact us with any questions about the ride
Bridge Repair Day4
The large wooden bridge on trail 200 beside the settling ponds is in need of repairs. A small group of officers led by Chris Haas has been developing a plan for the needed repairs. This bridge is over 20 years old and is constructed with heavy 3” x 12” by 12’ long boards. About a dozen boards need removed and replaced. To do this, crews will be working on the bridge deck and below the deck on ladders and scaffolding to remove the heavy bolts and brackets that hold the boards in place.
The plan is to meet at the club parking lot starting at 9 AM Thursday (8/22), Friday (8/23), Saturday (8/24), and Sunday (8/25). The hours of bridge work will be done until managing club officers leave the site. We are trying to get as much work done as possible each day. If you are able to help at a certain hour(s)/day(s) please contact Chris (757-635-5546) or Joe (412-691-0198).
This is a labor intense project and the extra hands to help will be much appreciated. No construction skills required.
We plan to be able to allow traffic on the bridge while working (with possible delays). Riders, please stop at the bridge and look for an active work party. If there are people working, wait for the go-ahead.
If you plan to come help or have questions, please either email icvatvclub1@gmail.com or contact Chris (757-635-5546) or Joe (412-691-0198).
